Dear Sir or Madam.
I would like to bring up the Rwanda Genocide. Since this year is marking the 20th commemoration I would like to tell you what I think should be done. I hope you will at least think about what I say even if you don't use it. The genocide in Rwanda was not a huge event to people here in America and in many other places of the world as you already know but, in Africa it was and still is a huge problem. They have tried to stop thinking about what happened in those brief 100 days but when 1/7 of your population is killed it is hard to look away. I believe you should try and draw awareness to this problem even if it is just for a few months this year. The Rwandans have created memorials for the people who died and they don't want to rest of the world to forget what happened that year. I ask that you tell he world what happened and please explain why your troops left so quickly. Only 10 of your troops had died and although death shouldn't happen in the first place if someone had stepped up and stopped what was happening the genocide could have been stopped before almost 1 million people died. I know that since this happened so long ago you can't undo it know but please do as much as you can to help them recover and heal from this horrible tragedy.
I look forward to hearing back from you or hearing from you in a more public way such as a segment on the genocide and its 20th commemoration.
Thank You,
Kiara McNeil
